I’ve always heard that the military encouraged soldiers to get their name, rank, serial, etc. tattooed on their ribs as well (it’s thought that the torso will survive most bomb blasts, etc. and would help I.D. the dead) but that so many men couldn’t get through it — they screamed and fainted — because the intercostal area is LOADED with nerves and nerve endings. It’s terribly painful! Blood type tattoo. Next tattoo? Right there. Maybe… I kinda like it.  AB-
